How we count volume
Volume is contracts traded at their $1 face value: a contract that pays $1 if it’s right counts as $1, whatever it cost. Dollars paid is what traders actually spent, each contract at the price it traded. A 10¢ contract adds $1 to volume and 10¢ to dollars paid, so the gap is widest on long shots.
The venues don’t report alike: Kalshi’s headline figure counts contracts at $1, while Polymarket reports dollars paid. We count every venue both ways from the same trade data, so Novig’s figures here compare directly with every other venue’s.

Volume is the value of contracts traded, counted once per trade, from DeFi Rate’s licensed market data, which reads Novig’s own daily trade files. Days are UTC. Novig publishes each day’s trades the following morning, so its latest figures run a day or two behind the other venues; each chart shows the last complete day.
Novig lists sports only, and its parlays count toward its volume. Open interest isn’t shown: Novig reports it in contracts, not dollars. Its most-traded markets are listed from September 25, 2026, when our data provider began cataloguing Novig’s events; parlays and markets that settled before then count in the totals but aren’t listed individually.
