Thunderpick World Championship odds and preview

The Thunderpick World Championship 2026 takes place from October 14 to 18 at BLAST Studios in Malta. Eight teams will compete for a $1 million prize pool, with the championship team earning a $500,000 share, including its club allocation. Fans can stream the matches on Thunderpick's official Twitch and YouTube channels.

The tournament begins with two four-team, double-elimination groups. Teams need two match victories to advance to the semifinals, while two defeats mean elimination. Group-stage matches are best-of-three, and Sunday's grand final is best-of-five.

Kalshi has markets available for all four Wednesday opening matches. Here's how the matchups stack up, with prices from October 13:

  • Aurora vs. 9z (4:30 a.m. ET): Aurora is a 75% favorite, compared with 25% for 9z. Aurora enters following a third-place finish at ESL Pro League Season 24, giving the Turkish squad recent high-level experience heading into its Group A opener.
  • Team Falcons vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas (7 a.m. ET): Falcons lead at 77%, while NIP sits at 23%. Falcons are the tournament's highest-seeded team, while NIP joined the field as a late replacement for Virtus.pro.
  • Legacy vs. PARIVISION (9:30 a.m. ET): Legacy leads 57% to 43% in the closest opening market. Legacy welcomes in-game leader Andrei "arT" Piovezan back after an illness-related absence during ESL Pro League Season 24.
  • FURIA vs. BetBoom (noon ET): Defending champion FURIA is favored at 71%, with BetBoom at 29%. FURIA returns to Malta looking to repeat its 2025 Thunderpick title, but must first navigate a competitive Group B field.

Wednesday's winners move into their respective group winners' matches, while the losing teams face elimination matches. The four eventual semifinalists will compete Saturday, October 17, before Sunday's championship and third-place matches.

Trading esports prediction markets at Kalshi

Kalshi allows users to trade Yes and No contracts on esports outcomes, including individual match winners. Contract prices fluctuate with trading activity, and winning contracts settle at $1.

For example, a Yes contract purchased at 75¢ returns $1 if the selected team wins, generating a 25¢ profit before fees. Losing contracts typically settle at zero.

Traders may also sell contracts before settlement, subject to available liquidity and prices. As with any prediction market, it's important to understand the contract terms, recognize the risk of loss, and trade only with money you can afford to lose.
