Germany vs. Ivory Coast World Cup preview

Both teams are eying spots in the round of 32 and enter this contest with three points apiece. Germany opened World Cup play with an impressive 7-1 victory over Curacao, a team making its tournament debut. Kai Havertz scored a pair of goals, with six different players finding the back of the net. Manuel Neuer only faced two shots on goal. Another win, combined with a Curacao win or draw against Ecuador, will clinch Group E for Germany.

Even though Ivory Coast only defeated Ecuador by a 1-0 score in its opener, the team remains a Group E team to watch. The Ivorians are making their fourth appearance in the World Cup, and first since 2014. The squad is aiming to advance out of the group stage for the first time, and can advance to the Round of 32 with a win this weekend.
