- DeFi Rate is a Polymarket.us partner. We earn a commission when you sign up through links on this page. This does not affect our editorial rating or the accuracy of the terms listed. Use the Polymarket promo code RATE to get the full bonus.
I signed up to Polymarket using code RATE to see how the offer worked and how the US platform compared with Kalshi. The current deal is pretty straightforward: deposit at least $10 and get the current $50 promotional trading credit after completing the offer requirements.
Polymarket is running a zero-fee promotion on eligible NFL and college football markets this weekend. If you use Polymarket promo code RATE and qualify for the current $50 new user bonus, you can get the signup credit and trade eligible football markets without the usual fees during the promotion.
The important part is that the $50 is not cash you can immediately pull back out. It is promotional trading credit and needs to be used on Polymarket first. For a $10 deposit, that still gives you enough credit to actually try the platform rather than burning through the entire bonus on one small position.
Polymarket US is also a different product from the international Polymarket.com site. If you used Polymarket before through a crypto wallet, do not assume the signup and funding process is the same. The US product has its own account and onboarding flow.

The offer is easy to understand on the surface, but I would not judge it only by the $50 headline. The useful comparison is how much of your own money you need to put in, what you have to do to qualify and what the promotional balance can actually be used for.
How to get the most from the Polymarket $50 sign up bonus
For $10 out of pocket, you get enough promotional credit to use the platform for a while. That is the main reason I like the structure more than a $5 or $10 credit that disappears into one position.
If you are new to prediction markets, I would not put the full $50 into the first market that catches your eye. Polymarket has everything from NFL games and Fed decisions to elections, Bitcoin and pop-culture markets. Using a few smaller positions gives you a much better feel for how prices move and what happens when you want to sell before settlement.
Where the offer is less generous is withdrawals. The $50 is not a free $50 sitting in your cash balance. You have to use the promotional funds for trading, and what you end up with depends on how those positions work out. RATE makes the most sense if you already want to try Polymarket, not if the only thing you want is a bonus you can cash out immediately.
How to claim the Polymarket $50 bonus
The signup is not especially complicated, although Polymarket US is mobile-led and you will need to complete identity verification before you can start trading.
1. Sign up and enter RATE
Open the Polymarket US signup flow and create your account. When you reach the field asking for a referral or promotional code, enter RATE.
That wording can be confusing because Polymarket also has a separate refer-a-friend program. If you are opening a new account for the current DeFi Rate offer, RATE is the code you want attached to the signup.
2. Complete verification
You will need to provide the normal account information and complete Polymarket’s identity checks before funding and trading.
3. Deposit at least $10
Once the account is approved, make a deposit of at least $10 and complete any additional qualifying action shown with the RATE offer during signup.
4. Check that the $50 has been added
Once you have completed the current offer requirements, check your account for the promotional credit before placing anything.
5. Pick a market
Once the credit is there, use it on a market you already understand. Sports are easy to follow if you are coming from a sportsbook, while Fed and election markets give you a better sense of why prediction markets can feel more like a trading platform than a betting app.
Whatever you choose, read the market rules before buying. Settlement is based on the contract wording and the listed resolution source, not necessarily the interpretation you had after reading the headline.

Polymarket has gone well beyond simple Yes/No questions about elections. Sports now includes many of the same markets people would recognize from a sportsbook, while politics, economics, crypto and breaking-news contracts cover a much wider range of outcomes.
NFL and other sports: You can trade individual games using moneylines, spreads and totals, along with season-long markets such as the Super Bowl winner, division races and NFL MVP. Polymarket has also expanded into player props, where the contract can be tied to an individual player’s yards, points, touchdowns, strikeouts or other stats. Its sports coverage widened again in August as Polymarket added official data and coverage across more than 20 leagues and competitions.
Elections and politics: Political markets range from control of the House or Senate to presidential nominations, individual races and other government outcomes. Polymarket added a dedicated 2026 Midterms Hub in September, bringing congressional-control markets, individual races and state and district maps into one place.
Fed and economic markets: The economics section covers Fed rate decisions, inflation, employment, recession expectations, consumer spending and energy. A typical contract might ask what the Fed will do at its next meeting or whether the US enters a recession during a specific period. These markets tend to move quickly when CPI, jobs data or Fed comments hit.
Bitcoin and crypto: Crypto markets aren’t limited to long-term price targets. Polymarket recently added 15-minute Bitcoin Up or Down markets, where each contract asks whether Bitcoin will finish the 15-minute window above or below its starting price. There are also longer-duration markets asking whether Bitcoin or another asset will reach a particular price by a set date.
Movies, music and pop culture: You can trade outcomes such as the highest-grossing movie of the year, awards like the Oscars, television, music, video games and celebrity-related events. Polymarket has also been expanding the types of entertainment contracts available, rather than limiting the category to awards markets.
Companies, AI and technology: Polymarket lists markets around company valuations, CEOs, layoffs, product launches, AI, space and other technology events. These sit somewhere between financial forecasting and news trading, and can move sharply when a company announcement or earnings update lands.
World events, weather and health: There are also contracts around foreign elections, international politics, weather, temperatures, natural disasters and health events. These are usually more event-specific, so the contract wording and resolution source matter a lot more than the category name itself.
Polymarket bonus vs other prediction markets
The $50 offer is one of the larger prediction-market signup bonuses, but the headline number is not the only thing worth comparing. Some platforms require more money up front, some require a trade before the reward appears, and the markets available on each exchange can be quite different.

For Polymarket, the useful number is simple: a $10 minimum deposit is tied to a $50 promotional offer. That is $5 in promotional credit for every $1 required in the minimum deposit, although it should not be read as a 500% investment return or $60 of withdrawable cash.
Polymarket promo code vs referral code
Polymarket’s new-user promo and its referral program are separate. If you are opening an account through DeFi Rate and want the current $50 offer, RATE is the code to use. If you already have a Polymarket account and want to invite somebody else, that is handled through Polymarket’s refer-a-friend program instead.
| RATE promo | Refer-a-friend | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it’s for | New users | Existing users inviting someone |
| Code | RATE | Your own referral code/link |
| Purpose | Claim the current signup offer | Earn referral incentives |
| Where to find it | On this page / signup | Your Polymarket account |
| Same program? | No | No |
If you are here because you searched Polymarket promo code, Polymarket bonus code or Polymarket invite code and you want the $50 new-user offer, use RATE. If you are trying to find your own Polymarket referral code, that is a different program.
What I like about Polymarket US
The breadth of the market list is what makes the bonus useful. You can open the app for an NFL game and then end up looking at the Fed, an election or Bitcoin five minutes later. That has always been a big part of Polymarket’s appeal, and the US product is building out that same mix.
I also like being able to get out of a position before the underlying event settles. If you buy Yes at 40 cents and the market moves to 65 cents, you do not necessarily need to sit there until resolution. You can sell if there is liquidity on the other side.
That flexibility makes the platform more interesting than a straight fixed-odds bet, but it also adds a learning curve. The price on screen is not a guarantee that a large order will fill entirely at that level. You still need to pay attention to the order book and how much liquidity is available.
What I’d watch
The US and international Polymarket products get mixed together constantly online. Polymarket.com is the international product, while Polymarket US is separate and uses a separate account.
That matters because older Polymarket guides still tell US users to connect a crypto wallet, buy USDC and use Polygon. Those instructions describe the international product, not the RATE signup flow on Polymarket US.
There is another thing to watch: market availability is not static. Regulators in several states continue to challenge sports event contracts offered by federally regulated prediction markets. That does not make the whole platform suddenly unavailable nationwide, but it does mean a permanent “49 states” line can go stale quickly.
How Polymarket works
Polymarket prices event contracts between $0 and $1. If a Yes contract is trading at 60 cents, the market is broadly pricing that outcome at about 60%. Buy 100 contracts at 60 cents and the position costs $60. If Yes ultimately settles at $1, the contracts are worth $100. If the market settles No, those Yes contracts are worth $0.
You can also sell before settlement if another trader is willing to take the other side. That is where liquidity matters. A displayed price can look attractive, but if there is not much size available at that level, a larger order may fill at several different prices.

Polymarket US vs Polymarket.com
| Polymarket US | Polymarket.com | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it’s for | Eligible US users | International users where available |
| RATE offer | Yes | No |
| Account | Polymarket US account | Separate international account |
| Product | US prediction-market exchange | International crypto-based prediction market |
| US residents | Use this product | Cannot trade through the international site |
That matters because a lot of older reviews still tell American users to connect a wallet and deposit USDC. Those directions do not belong on a Polymarket US promo page anymore.
Polymarket deposits and withdrawals
Deposited money and promotional credit are not treated exactly the same way. Your own cleared funds can be withdrawn subject to Polymarket’s normal account and payment rules. The $50 incentive needs to be used according to the promotional terms first.
| Funding method | Deposits | Withdrawals |
|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer | Supported | Supported subject to account rules |
| Debit card | Supported | Where available |
| Credit card | Supported | Not listed as a standard withdrawal method |
| Apple Pay | Supported on eligible devices | Not listed as a standard withdrawal method |
For a platform-by-platform comparison, see our guide to prediction-market fees.
Polymarket vs Kalshi
Polymarket and Kalshi are close competitors. Both serve US prediction-market users, both offer event contracts, and both cover far more than one category.
The choice comes down more to the specific markets you want, liquidity, price and product experience than “crypto platform versus regulated US exchange.” For the signup offer alone, Polymarket currently gives you $50 in promotional credit for a $10 minimum deposit with RATE. But I would not choose an exchange only because the signup bonus is larger. If the market you actually want has better liquidity or pricing somewhere else, that matters after the first $50 is gone.
One product difference is perpetual futures. Kalshi offers perps in the US, while Polymarket’s perps product sits on its international platform rather than Polymarket US. See our Polymarket perps review for details.
For a deeper breakdown, see our Polymarket vs Kalshi comparison.
Is Polymarket legal in the US?
Polymarket US operates as a federally regulated prediction-market exchange, but the legal picture around individual event contracts is still developing. Several states have challenged sports prediction contracts and argued that they fall under state gambling laws. Prediction-market operators have taken the opposite position, arguing that federally regulated event contracts fall under federal commodities law. Those disputes are still being fought in courts and regulatory proceedings.
Where is Polymarket US currently available?
| Alabama | District of Columbia | Kansas | Nebraska | Oregon | Utah |
| Alaska | Florida | Kentucky | New Hampshire | Pennsylvania | Vermont |
| Arkansas | Georgia | Louisiana | New Mexico | Rhode Island | Virginia |
| California | Hawaii | Maine | New York | South Carolina | Washington |
| Colorado | Idaho | Minnesota | North Carolina | South Dakota | West Virginia |
| Connecticut | Indiana | Mississippi | North Dakota | Tennessee | Wisconsin |

Platform access, individual contract availability and promotional eligibility can vary by jurisdiction. Use the current table above rather than relying on an old claim about nationwide availability. See our prediction-market legal tracker for current state challenges and court cases.
Polymarket promo code FAQ
Enter RATE during signup. I would not finish registration assuming the promotion can be added later, because eligibility is normally attached when the new account is created.
Enter RATE in the referral or promo-code field during the Polymarket US signup flow. The wording can be confusing because Polymarket also runs a separate refer-a-friend program.
If you already have an account and want to invite someone, your personal referral information is inside Polymarket’s referral or invite area. That is separate from RATE, which is the DeFi Rate code for the new-user offer.
No. RATE is meant for eligible new accounts. Existing users should look at Polymarket’s current referral or trading incentives instead.
The credit should appear after you complete the current offer requirements. Check that it is in your account before trading; if it has not appeared, contact Polymarket support before using the promotional balance.
That portion of the promotional credit is gone. The bonus gives you additional money to trade with; it does not protect you from losses or guarantee that you will finish with $50.
Yes, assuming the markets are eligible. You do not need to put the entire promotional balance into one position, which is probably the better way to learn the platform if you are new to prediction markets.
You can use the promotional balance on eligible markets available to your account. The exact market list changes constantly, so the live table above is more useful than maintaining a static list here.
Market availability can differ by jurisdiction and product. A contract you see discussed online may not necessarily be available through your Polymarket US account where you live.
No. A lot of older Polymarket guides are describing Polymarket.com, the international crypto product. The RATE offer on this page is for Polymarket US.
No. They are separate products with separate accounts. If you previously used the international Polymarket site, that does not mean you already have a Polymarket US account.
Do not deposit first and sort it out afterward. Confirm that RATE and the current promotion are attached to the account before completing the qualifying deposit.
